I do like running Linux on the latest hardware right out of the box with zero configuration.
On the other hand, I dont like snap.

It's not ideal that you have to do that, but you can de-snapify Ubuntu. I get Firefox from a Mozilla-hosted repository and Thunderbird from Flatpak.
